equalizer bars

I am towing a 74 tradewind with a 02" 2500HD Duramax. Needless to say I have all the power I ever wanted. This is also the tow vehicle for my 99 34 Limited. My Problem is the hitch. The hitch that came with the Trade Wind is a draw tite and it has 1000 pound bars with it. Aren't these too stiff. Should I be looking for a 500# set. Can I damage the trailer with these heavy bars. Where is the best place to get 500# SET.

Yes, the lighter the better on that vehicle. Especialy if you are using a Reese Dual cam. The coach likes a shofter suspension tow vehicle.

Search "over hithched", "overhitched". There are several long threads on towing with a 3/4 ton and 1 ton.
