I tried wax paper on the ball with a small trailer once. It lasted almost two miles.

Even when the paper falls away a little wax residue is left behind.

I like the wax paper idea if it works, especially on the L-brackets. I now have a pair of "trailer pants" due to bumping my knees on those brackets while working around the front storage compartment of our 27FB.

I immediately drop the greasy ends of the bars into ziploc freezer bags and zip 'em up tight to the shanks. Manage to keep myself clean.

It gets louder after every rain. I guess the lubrication wears off. Another reason to get a ProPride...

Not saying it would definitely work, but if I still had an Equal-I-zer hitch, I would try some Door-Eaz on the "L" brackets where the bars ride. If wax paper helps, it should also as it is a thick, waxy type lubricant.

Wax paper from the Kuntry Boy sausage package- it has sausage grease, too!
My "link plate" on the curb side is bent. Justin Andrew said to turn it around. It just bent the other way...
If the link plate was as thick as the L bracket...

we get a great bounce with our equalizer and 22 'FB sport. We have the lightest bars, 6000 lbs and trailer is 4500 max. Lot of bounce. no sway though. Do we need a different hitch?

Hi, you only need to lube the ball and the top and bottom of the spring bar sockets. Remove the bolts holding the spring bar sockets in place, clean and lube where they meet. [top and bottom]

Hi, make sure that your "L" brackets are at the maximum distance from the ball center on the coupler. [32"] This will give the spring bars more leverage and more flexibility.
