That works for a Tundra CrewMax and Classic 30.
That may be a very good baseline across the board.

Yikes!! I purchased an equalizer with my trailer new in 2015. I've done 3 major trips and a number of weekenders. I never think much about the hitch but am learning here that I probably should. I'm experiencing no issues other than what I hope are charisteric squeaks on some turns. I've done No grease, no adjustments, no anything! What's the first thing I should do after I post this??!!

Give that thing some grease on the ball and the moving parts of the hitch head.
Get Sway Bracket Jackets.
The noise will pipe down considerably.
When it begins to get noisy again, grease again- for me about once per year.

I recently got the "new" L pins. They also helped to quiet down my hitch. After 850 miles, I never heard it once!! Nice😀

What do most of you guys end up with for a ground clearance? (From the bottom of hitch to the ground)

Not much.
I'll measure it when I get home.

I was at the dealership and while there the Lead Mechanic told me my Equalizer hitch should have approximately a 3 degree pitch.
He adjusted same and photos are enclosed. I spoke with a factory rep who stated all the hitches should have a "slight" angel.
Didn't impact the level and I'm still within the requirements.
Anyone else encounter this?

Sounds like this Lead Mechanic doesn't understand exactly how this hitch works. If they all need 3 degrees of pitch, they would all be made that way and not be adjustable. Tell him to read his Equal-I-Zer product description.
Just my $0.02 worth.

Rearward tilt ofthe ball is a good idea on most hitches. The tech was correct.

After posting this I went back and started reviewing the Equalizer video streams from the factory. Low and behold each one shows small amount of tilt that is basically the top elongated bolt hole.
I went back through the installation guide and it doesn't address the use of tilt.
So I have arrived at the conclusion that my first set up was not 100% correct; only 97%.
Live and learn.

Rearward tilt of the ball is correct, but...
How many degrees of tilt depends on other things...
1/2 ton, 3/4 ton or 1 ton? 1/2 ton will need more tilt. 1 ton will need less tilt.
Tongue weight? More tongue weight will need more tilt, less tongue weight will need less tilt.
Hitch receiver height? Seems like higher would need more tilt.
"Take" of vehicle? Does it sit level? Does it sit lower in front?
Every rig is different.

I've still not got this hitch to transfer enough weight to the front axle. Just returned from a trip and experienced a light front end, particularly on rough road.
My last trip across the scales, full fuel, me, wife, empty tanks, loaded for camping:
front axle: 3586 lbs
rear axle: 4048 lbs
trailer: 5896 lbs
GCVW: 13,530 lbs
TV unhitched: 6424 lbs - Ram 1500 EcoDiesel c/w 3.92, factory air suspension, short box, AWD.
TW: 850 lbs
I am at 6 1/2 spacers, wheel well measures are spot on, hitch height correct.
The bars have tension as they are not parallel to the trailer frame, but have some upwards angle.
Will going to 8 spacers really do it for me, or should I try another hitch?

It seems harder to transfer weight on a 1/2 ton.

I don't have this exact system, but similar and I was always instructed to use stiffer bars than the TW suggests on a truck to compensate for the difficulty in transferring weight.

I have 1,200# bars rather than 1,000# bars.

That's why CanAm Andy suggested to me that I use 1400# bars on my FC25FB. I thought it would be overkill, but he was correct. I'm glad I followed his advice.

I've got a call into Andy to see what he suggests. My understanding is the bars aren't interchangeable so I have to go to another size hitch altogether?

The bars are interchangeable in the Equal-I-zer Original 4-point Sway Control hitch.

+1, Andy also recommended 1400lb bars for my '15 Classic/2500 setup.

I was always told that the heavier the tv, the lighter the WD bars.
