Equal-i-zer Hitch Installation on new Classic

I have a question for those who use the Equal-i-zer hitch who have a Classic with the Aluminum protection plates on the a-frame. When I go to install the lower bolt on my 07 30' classic, it interfers with the aluminum protection plate and on the other side both the protection plate and the LP line are in the way. Did you remove the protection plates and lower the LP line or did you fasten the lower bolt on the lowest availabe hole? Any help would be appreciated.

I see no one has replied to this post so I'll give it a shot although I am not familiar with the "protection plates".
The bolts on the Eq should be as close to the frame as possible, do NOT place the LP line where it can be pinched, place all wire, lines, etc outside of the bolts/L brackets etc.

Hope this helps, Bill

Thanks Bill, ended up removing the aluminum plates and worked the LP line so it is below the bolt.

Move that LP line

Scott -

While your AS is WAY newer than mine, there was also some clearance issue when the Equal-i-zer was being mounted. The dealership did move the LP line outside the path of the mounting. I see that you did the same. Good call as a fire/explosing really could ruin your day.

Enjoy that AS!!!!

Scott..did this work out ok? I just got a 2007 AS 31's and if I get an equal-i-zer hitch, wondered what issues I may encounter or if I should get the reese dual-cam.

Thanks..Michael

EQ install?

Michael -

What was the final call on your set-up? Did you go with the EQ or other.... Curious?

Scott - How did your set-up wind up working? I have had zero issues with the EQ (other than retightening bolts after 2K miles) and really love the stability.

Happy AirStreamin!
