Probably right. I have a receiver on my van where the rating label is long gone and there is no embossed markings. I know it is a Draw-tite. Their 10,000# receiver weighs 42#. Their smaller (8000#, I think) weighs 38#.
I took mine off and weighed it on a balance scale - 42#.
Called Draw-Tite and asked if I was safe in assuming it was a 10,000# receiver. They said no.

Yes I have an EQ, some would say im over hitched. But it works for me. Enjoy

If you lived closer, you could use my 1000/10,000 Eq. It's presently holding my basement floor down.

I have an Eq 10k and used it to tow both our 20' Safari SE and then our new 25' FC. I don't really see any bar flex on either one, but something must be flexing as I'm going over dips and bumps. That's what I don't like about it, lack of bar flexibility.

Eq said I could use it on either trailer. I set the 20' up with less bar tension, probably with little friction for sway control but I put good downward tilt on the head so when the trailer turned to the side the bars would increase tension and try to keep it in line.

Both trailers towed nicely but I think the aerodynamics, low COG, and independent suspension of the Airstreams account for much of that.

As a general statement, and only my opinion, most things like hitches are designed with a safety factor of 2 or 3 to one. I doubt that a 1000 mile trip with the hitch you propose would be any problem.

When I bought my Caravel, and brought it home, the tires were the original ones that came with the trailer and over 26 years old at the time. Stupid, maybe, or just lucky, but I towed it about 500 miles on those old guys, and all was fine.

I doubt it's 2 -3 to one!
I doubt it is anywhere near that...maybe 1.2 - 1.5 times.
