I know if some one wants it they will try to get it. However I will make it as difficult for anyone to take it as I can.
Multiple good solid passive deterrents may be better than any 1 single device.

4 Rino boots and a hitch lock should work.

Megahitch is $139! I suppose you could drill out the lock if the trailer is somewhere where the noise can't be heard.

I haven't seen the MegaHitch lock only in pictures. But I have never seen the lock mechinism itself. Does it come with the UN-Pickable lock. I have seen them in other applacations and see the inside of the mechinisum there are truly unpickable.I have one on my tongue latch.
I suppose given the new tecnogily of battery powered cut off tools and if the lock was in an area where noise didnt matter it would be no problem to defeat it.

Cover the wheels with a Denver Boot, or remove them altogether. This is as far as I get (after decent locks).

We have been using the Megahitch lock for a few months, and have been very happy with it. The lock is a very heavy-duty, well-machined device. We had to leave our new Airstream in a parking lot for two months while we modified our driveway. If someone has tried to defeat the Megahitch during that time they obviously were not successful.
Bob at Clearwater Industries was very helpful, and our Megahitch lock arrived within a few days of placing the order. I would not hesitate to recommend the Megahitch lock to anyone who needs a coupler lock.

I also have the Megahitch lock and am very happy with it. As stated earlier the folks at Megahitch are very customer oriented.
The lock is very heavy duty and would, in my opinion, take a while to cut. I am also not sure how easy it would be to drill out the lock as it faces the front of the trailer and is not easy to get to even to unlock it.
When one considers the price of the AS the cost of the lock is not expensive. I would recommend it.

Reminds me of the old saying "When in a group being chased by a bear, you don't need to run faster than the bear, just faster than the slowest person in the group!!"
Oh, and I'm new to the Forum. Picking up my brand new Serenity 27FB in 4 days! Just doing a LOT of lurking on this site right now.

I cheaped out. I bought this Bolt Lock padlock. I put the first link of one of the tow chains on the hasp, put the hasp through the hitch latch, and put the first link of the other tow chain on the hasp. I picked this brand because it works with my truck ignition key so I don't have to keep another key.
Note that these locks are vehicle specific, so get the one that matches your tow vehicle.

Wow - the hasp on my boltlock is too large diameter to fit through the AS hitch. Did you drill yours out?

I have had the megabuck for 5 years now and it works well. Will it stop a thief? I don't know as I guess it depends on how bad they want to steal the whole trailer.
