Coupler issue.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this - did a search and could not find anything on tongue couplers.

When I first got the trailer there was no issue with lining up the ball with the tongue coupler - and there was always a good inch in any direction and it would slip on and seat fine.

But this past year - she has been a real B*&^%tch. I now have to have the ball sit sticking forward exactly 1/2 in of the tongue coupler for it to slip on. If I don't then when I pull the locking lever it does not lock all though the coupler is all the way down onto the ball.

Does this mean that I need new innards for the coupler? is there such a thing or am I looking at having to have a new tongue coupler assembly welded on?

Thanks for any advice

Hi, you might need a repair kit or maybe you should just take it apart and clean all of the parts; Could be just gunked up.
