It's unfortunate we even have to schedule service and drop off our Airstream again to another dealer when all this should have been done right the first time.
Airstream has switched back to UPS for small packages, instead of FEDEX, aka FEDUP. .

UPS can do unbelieveable things, to even a double thickness box, and then blame the shipper for "poor packaging".

That's why Chris, from Canada, came up with a new and much more apropriate meaning for UPS.
UPS = UNITED PARCEL SMASHERS

A new name they certainly all to often, live up to, and then blame the shipper.

I don't think UPS was the problem here. She said there was no damage to the box, in post #59. Sounds like damaged parts were packed, then shipped thru UPS.

I disagree.

All to many times, we receive perfect boxes with good packaging, and the parts are damaged.

Watch how their drivers throw packages around, even when your watching.

"G" forces can do wonders to packaging.

I can assure you, that Airstream has never been guilty of shipping a damaged part. Sometimes perhaps a wrong part, but they don't have time to play games with their dealers.

For UPS to have caused this damage it would have to been completely removed from all packaging, dented on two separate edges and scratched on the top in three places. Then repacked.

It was completely wrapped in bubble wrap. I'm thinking this is par for the course for this dealership. This is probably the top that I was told was installed then wasn't. It sat around somewhere, never got installed, then shipped to me when I finally complained.

Until the first of April, Airstream shipped small parts via Fedex, not UPS. Now it's UPS for small boxes and Fedex for big freight.

Also, Airstream seals their boxes with paper tape, and not scotch tape.

Maybe this will help you figure out who did the packaging and shipping.

I actually dont know who shipped the parts. The table was waiting at my door. The inverter arrived Monday and that was FedEx.

My point was I'm sure Camper Clinic sent the table damaged already. I'm going to bring it to Explore RV and let them deal with it. I called them Monday and told them what happened. The service manager contacted Airstream and made arrangements for a new top. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the Airstream and can get a nice trip in for May.

I'm just glad I got this info out there so others no what to expect from Camper Clinic in Buda.

We did not buy our AS from Explore RV in San Antonio but did drive down for them to install our Equalizer hitch. They were ready for us when we arrived and did a great job. We had a great experience and will use them next time we need work done on our AS.

I'm right here in town where CCII is located. I won't hijack the thread ... but I'll just say we look for all other options for service. Our experience with having service performed on 3 different Airstreams over the course of about 4 years ... ummm ... I'll just say we go elsewhere.

I personally use Texas RV Supply in San Antonio. Great people, wonderful staff and...they get it done right or make it right. Have had lots of work done to my 1997 widebody and extremely satisfied every time!
