I have a collection. That's what it took to get a fit. Use an RV catalog.

Dave, Masterlock makes a lock that would probably fit this coupler. I use it on my boat. The locking portion fits over the lip at the front of the coupler. Remember, these things just keep honest people honest.

Won't a standard pad lock fit that one? I have been known to enlarge that hole slightly to make standard lock fit.

DFlores, good choice.
The Master #35 has a nice smooth well fitted vintage appearance, that if painted same as coupler, may not be noticed. It's a good ol' USA made product from back when there was pride in manufacturing and the best materials were used. It wasn't made just to look like a coupler lock, it IS a coupler lock. It fits 2” or 2 5/16”.
Its Design is such that, unless you have all day and plenty of blades, it cannot be sawed off. Otherwise, you need an angle grinder, cold chisel, 5/8” diamond drill, slide hammer and 3/16” hex key, or maybe liquid nitrogen and an 8# sledge hammer could remove it.
A righteous product, it will slow or deter a casual amateur, or inadequately equipped thief from ball towing...

I have used Master #35 for yrs. painted red. Last year when ready to to hook up couldn't find key had to call lock smith, he picked in 30 seconds, so they are not fool proof but I would not have any other kind.

Yup, the Master-Lock key hole is indeed the Achilles’s Heel of this mechanism. I'd venture to say that the first-day class of “Lock Picking 101” is taught on Master-Locks.
Iris or thumbprint recognition retrofit??
I'm thinking to reset my tumbler pins to match the trailer's exterior access doors.
Why they are factory painted copper color is a mystery...

I went with the MegaHitch lock after reading most of the posts on this forum about various locks. I ordered the silver one, and it is not too ugly, other than the red sticker on the side. It is all a crap shoot, but this gives me a bit of piece of mind.

hitch lock
Sounds like you picked up a 2.5" ball; as far as I know all AS hitches are 2"; either that or you haven't pulled back the locking plate up inside your hitch; use some quality lubricant like WD40 and give it a good shot;

Just before packing the coupler lock I purchased, thought I would try once more with a different screw and not screwed all the way in, and what do you know, it locks on. Talk about feeling stupid.
It hangs a little funny, but it locks. Did'nt want to try and pry it off with crow bar, so
I put a plastic bag over it, to keep it from catching water.
I think it is the cold that keeps me from working at this more, ....yea that's it. Blame the weather.

I also got a MegaHitch lock after reading all of the reviews. Unfortunately it will just barely fit on my old Marvel coupler. I think the old Marvels must be thicker than the newer couplers. I had to extend the center bolt out to its maximum extent and then just hook the lock over the lip of the coupler. It doesn't seem all that secure. I considered contacting the manufacturer to see if they could make one a little bit taller, but haven't done so yet.

OK, time to fess up.
The coupler lock that I originally purchased was a Mega Lock.
Gretchen, from Megahitch was more than helpful, she had a new smaller bolt modified for me and kept in communication the whole time that I was trying to figure this thing out.
Customer service like that not found everywhere.
Gretchen answered all my questions and was ready to accept the return of the Mega Lock.
I am not as stupid as this thread makes me sound, I am glad that there are people like Gretchen out there for my senior moments.
