Best tongue jack

The best replacement is a Barker. I bought mine from Camper Clinic II in Buda. Barker is the Airstream OEM jack.
It is quiet, fast, has a light, and fits the Airstream without rubbing the Propane cover.

I tried a cheaper replacement which drove me crazy (slow, noisy, rubbed the Propane cover) until I bought the Barker. Quality only hurts once.

I don't know the brands, but the jack on our new trailer is much nicer than the one on our previous trailer. That other jack had parts falling out of it when we traded.

Was that a "holiday rambler" which was owned by H.D.? Some of my H.D.'s seemed to dribble parts...that way I could find my way home... hehe

We have an Atwood power tongue jack (see page 21):

http://www.rvtechlibrary.com/chassis/atwood_jacks.pdf

It's 4.5 years old; and it's like new, because we put a big boat bumper with one end cut off, over the top of the jack to protect the motor head from sun, rain, dust, etc. The bumper is held down with a bungee cord.

Thats a great idea! But FYI those are called boat FENDERS, not bumpers. One of the few things I retained from my sailboat owning days. lol.

Looks nice, but what's the brand? I just put an UltraFab 3502 on mine. Seems to work well so far. Easy one wire install, has LED lights (which actually work) and is powder coated. $165 at the internet sale price (regular price was ridiculous). I read a few bad reviews on them from awhile back. Hopefully they have addressed some of the issues. Most reviews were positive, but who knows. Good luck with yours.
