Bent hitch

Anyone else bent the hitch head on a Blue Ox Swaypro hitch? Is it a safety issue? Dealer says this happens occasionally, but my question is the hitch strength compromised? Opinions on whether the hitch could break. Jim

Hi, without seeing pictures of what is bent and how much it is bent, I would just say it's junk and unsafe.

It is bent enough to be obvious. Really do not want to trust it, thanks for your opinion, I think it is garbage too. Jim

I recently purchased a Sway Pro but haven't installed it yet. Can I ask what part of the head bent? The thing is nearly half inch thick steel.....

It is a great hitch. The whole head angle bent when I backed up too sharply. Pure user abuse. Jackknifed the trailer. On second thought I will probably continue to use it the way it is and just keep an eye on it. have not called Blue Ox yet to ask about replacement, the hitch is several years old. Jim
