Thanks and one more question.

I appreciate everyone's input. I checked my local trailer store here and found two brands of friction sway control bars. One was $49.00 and one was $69.00. I opened the boxes and both were identical. I think I will use this type of friction bar for sway control. Also:

A friend has a WD hitch he's selling. It's rated at 1200# tongue weight. This is certainly overkill for my Caravel, but would it matter. He wants $150 for it and it might be nice to have should I get a larger trailer someday. What do you think? Any negatives of using a 1200# WD system when I need much less?

Yes it would matter if the bars are that weight rating. All of the major hitch heads are rated for simular weight, but you DO NOT want to put 1200 pound bars on your Caravel. They are too strong, and will in time damage the trailer.
