4" Drop/Rise For Anderson Hitch?

Following the online directions on Anderson's web page, I find that for my TV I would be just 3/4" over their guidance for the 4" drop/rise ball mount with my 19 1/2" receiver height. Have others found the 8" drop/rise mount necessary?

I had to get the longer drop/rise stinger for my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee which has a very high hitch box. It worked out very well. I think there is a certain amount of trial and error in the decision. On my rig, at the lowest setting with the normal ball mount still had too high a ball and the trailer would have towed nose high. The other stinger was much better. When I used my Reese and Draw Tight hitches, I had the same issue with a too high ball, so I ordered a new stinger for them too. As I said, the 2011 and up Jeep Grand Cherokee has a really high standard hitch box.

Out of curiosity, just how high off the ground is the top of the receiver on your Jeep?

I am not at home now and can't tell you, but you could measure any factory hitch on any 2011 and up Jeep and get the answer. Well, if it has air suspension as mine does it would need to be in the "normal" ride height position, not the "low" position used at your choice for ease of entrance and exit.
