1978 Minuet single ball knuckle??

Hello, all. I have been wondering if anyone has had any experience with a WD or AS system that has only one bar? The 1978 Minuet I currently have in the shop has...only...one...bolt-on ball/knuckle where the old (WD bar???) may have hooked up, on the street side, incidentally. I do not have WD, yet, and wonder why there is only one ball-knuckle mounted on the trailer frame? All the WD systems I see have two (2) bars, one left and one right.
It's weird because there are no "holes" on the other side of the trailer frame from where a second knuckle might have once been.

Any help solving this question is appreciated, since taking the old knuckle off will involve lots of penetrating oil...maybe a cutting torch...

Why only one? Is this a blast from the past?

Thanks

There was one WD hitch I saw once which was for single shaft tongue, like a boat trailer. It had only one spring bar. Maybe some PO adapted one to use on the relatively light weight Minuet you have. I can't recall the hitch brand, but for some reason Reese sticks in my mind.

That is the ball mount for the friction anti-sway bar.

That is what I have. It is just a linear brake that goes between a ball on your hitch and a ball on the trailer. Most of the time you don't need two unless you have a really bad sway problem. The version that I have has a mount for the arm that stays on the trailer so I only have one ball on the hitch.

Ah, a friction sway control device, of course.... (duh on my first thoughts).

But will this get in the way of a WD hitch?

Thank you all for the info, and the link! The ball-knuckle I have on the trailer is a bit...rusty. It looks like an antique from a 1890s mining town! I wonder if it would still work?
More importantly, it looks like it may get in the way of any WD I might (have to) add!

I note the link (kindly supplied, thank you!) shows a trailer with sway control and no WD. The trailer may get a bit heavier with all of our "worldy" belongings in it (though that is getting whittled down by the day), so I imagine WD will be the priority, and the sway control, secondly.

I would love to hear any additional opinions about prioritizing the two (WD vs SC), on such a small trailer. Many threads already point to making WD a priority, and only adding sway control if it's needed.

Thank you for the comments! I have a feeling the best part of this journey will be meeting people like you all!
