1968 Safari single axle

I'm new to trailers, my family had one when I was a kid and my Dad always hated pulling it. In light of my past experiences , and my desire to do some long distance traveling with our Airstream, I'm leaning towards a Hensley hitch. The only problem is that I'm cheap. I see lots of Hensley Arrows for sale for $500-$700, but the ball on these is 2 5/8" while my coupler is for a 2 inch ball. They also make the Hensley Cub, which would be perfect but I don't see many for sale and the ones I've seen are $1500 and up. I am considering having the coupler on my trailer changed to a 2 5/8 inch one and buying a Hensley Arrow. Has anyone on here done this and I'd welcome opinions on why or why not to do it. My tow vehicle is a 1/2 to Nissan Titan with the tow package.
