09 Barker Power Jack failed. Replacements?

The jack on my 09 23ft international failed this weekend. Did not respond to the switch and when I tried the manual it would turn just a little but then stop. I opened it up looks like a failed switch but after pressing one the motor just spun without engaging. I've taken it to my dealer. They are waiting on getting a warranty OK from airstream. I have two choices if I want the trailer back tomorrow and ready for an upcoming trip I can choose to have an Atwood Heavy Duty Power Jack (3500lbs) in its place. OR I can wait two weeks for AS to ship out a replacement for the original Barker. Anybody have an opinions on the quality of the Atwood over the Barker? Comparable? I'm worried that it will be a cheaper build or have fewer features such as auto stop.

Thumbs up

Our original Barker jack kept shorting out and blowing fuses. Wea went with the Atwood jack for a warranty replacement. Haven't had any more problems with the electric jack since.

Although folks can have problems with different brands (like you and Paul), I think if you do some searches here and on say you will find that most folks are happy with both brands. In other words a toss up.

Thanks for the input everyone!
Looks like I'll just go with the Atwood in stock. I'm sick of waiting for dealers to get parts. Always later than promised.
