What's your towing MPG?

From Show Low, AZ to Paradise, TX (30 miles northwest of Dallas) about 820 miles, the numbers were about 11.5 mpg with a 2012 Ram 2500HD Cummins towing the 2014 Classic. Rig weight around 19,000 pounds. Posted speed limits or 65mph max. Michelin LT225/75R16/E LTX M/S2 tires on the trailer at 73 psi and the truck Michelin LT265/70/R17E tires were at 80 psi front and rear.

2015 Silverado Duramax w/50 gal aux. tank towing 2016 Classic. Just finished a 10,700 mile trip around the U.S. Averaged 13.6 mpg.

Nope, my tires are rated for the speed and load. All brand new Michelins on the TT and TV. (In Canada I obeyed the local speed limits, about 65 mph on the highway).

In May I traveled from Goodyear, AZ (17 miles west of Phoenix) to Denver, CO, 900 miles by all Interstate. Then in late September returned going through the CO mountains over several Mt. Passes like Wolf Creek (about 11,000') with a short side trip to Farminington, NM FMCA Rally. About the same number of miles. I pulled with a 2015 HD 3/4T GMC Duramax with a loaded bed & 34' 2000 A/S Excella weighing approx. 11,000 lbs. Speed ranged between 60 & 65 MPH with target MPH at 62. Although, the dash MPH for both trip legs said I averaged 46MPH. Tires were 15" Maxxis at 60 lbs. (should have been at 65lbs). High cross winds on first leg of trip & normal weather on return. Using a Pro Pride Hitch 1400 lb bars. which is worth every penny . 2 passengers & all of what Mama could carry back & forth!! Temperatures ranged from 26* to 95 *. MPG, surprisingly on both legs of the trip, was 13.2. This truck is a Beast. There seems like nothing it can't haul. Hope this helps .TerryG above I believe was right on with his Duramax MPG.

I'll start. My Honda Ridgeline, towing a 19' Bambi or 22FB Sport, typically gets about 14 MPG while towing. Sometimes it dips down to 12, and I did hit 15 once on a short flatland excursion.

I tow an AS 27FB which weight in travelling configuration 7200 pounds. The TV is a 2500 HD Denali with Duramax engine. Driving at 60-65 mph with the empty truck I do 20 mpg. The truck only loaded (1000 pounds) with a fiberglass box (fibrobec-spacecap-wild) and 2 kayaks I do 15 mpg and adding the AS I do 12.7 mpg. I am very happy with this set-up. It is better than any 1500 with gas engine. Once I did a run at 70-75 and fuel consumption reach 10 mpg. With a full tank of diesel, 35 gallons, driving at 60-65 I do 400 miles or 7 hours. That is enough for a nice day. I try to refuel when unhook. I saw to many accident at gas station.

I have a Denali Duramax. Towing a loaded 27FB, I do 12-13 mpg at 60-65.

Yesterday we towed our Airstream 258 miles in quiet, warm weather, mostly interstate and equal amounts of long up and down grade at 63-65 mph. I thought we might be close to 20 mpg for the day, settled for 19.2.

Just concluded our first big trip - 4000 miles Houston to North Rim of Grand Canyon / southern AZ / Big Bend NP Texas. 12.4 miles per gallon.

I get between 10.5 and 13 hand calculated with my fully loaded 27fb and a bunch of stuff in my truck. 2016 F150 with 3.5 EB. Tows fine and I am happy, I do miss the stopping power of my F350 but I am happier overall with the half ton.

We went to the Smokey's and back for Thanksgiving. Mostly around 55mph because of the curvy roads, stayed off the interstates completely on the way home because of traffic; got just under 14MPG.

2015 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi 3.21 gears pulling relatively empty 2011 23D on relatively level highway with little wind at 60-65 mph = 12-13 mpg.
