Believe me you'll never get there.

Just because the cat had kittens in the oven, don't make them biscuits.

Hi, I have a 2008 Suburban, but I am thinking of going to a 2500. I only tow a bambi, but when I travel for work, my car is packed for festivals, middle and rear seats are removed altogether and serious weight is loaded in. The Bambi sits low and by the time I get the bArs on, The bottom of my hitch sits very low to ground. I have to be careful not to drag on curbs. Any thoughts? I feel my 1500 sits wAy too low. Would the 2500 sit higher or would a 2500 only mean I could use less chain? I have a reese Bambi pulls just fine.

Do you have any special hitch system? Special brakes? Mirrors?

She has a Can Am modified hitch; couldn't tow without it, an additional trans cooler and a well dialled in, although basic, weight distribution and sway control set up and no brake mods apart from the Prodigy II controller. She does use a pair of McKesh add-on mirrors which may not look too sexy but they are good and steady at any speed and in any wind conditions.

An assumption.....

Your 1500 does not have the Autoride suspension with ALC,(automatic level control).

You don't mention how much drop your stinger,(hitch ball), has.

That year Suburban has the in bumper receiver which has a 25" ball height with a straight stinger, no drop.

If your loading that heavy, and the rear suspension drops too low you may just need a stinger with less drop.

The 2500 Burb does sit about 3" higher than the 1500, the 2500 LT option has the Autoride suspension W/O ALC

We tow ours with a Toyota Tundra. So far it's been a great set up.

I, too, tow with a Tundra (see avatar). I don't see any weight distribution or sway control on your setup.
