I may go Hensley one day but for the moment the Eaz-Lift system is doing it's job, and saving a little on the overall weight as well.

Man oh man, that one already looks like a low rider. Wonder how low it will go with 1000 pounds of tongue weight on it?

My Tow Rig

I'm towing my 66 Caravel with a 09 Grand Caravan. It is a much nicer ride then my Chevy 3500 van. I have been able to get almost 18 mpg on most trips. Next week I will be towing to Penn State then on to the Maryland shore for some RR.

My son is towing his 67 Globetrotter with my slightly used 2003 GC. This photo was taken today, NW of Zama City, Alberta. Home sweet home for the next 6 weeks. Jim

We bought Andy's old demo trailer - it came with the Hensley fitted and he didn't charge me extra for it so I figured, why not.

I have the Eaz Lift out in the shed. I am currently using the Equal-I-Zer 4 point anti-sway weight distributing hitch. I like it because it is easier to hook up. I, too, will go Hensley one day which will be even easier to hook up.

I feel ya, my brother. My wife won't use the truck as a daily driver because it is too big. I always park in the back 40 anyway so as to avoid door dings. Parking lots these days are striped for Model Ts or Beetles or Jeep CJs because when I park I still have truck hanging out of either end of the parking spot. I enjoy going to the stores in the Jeep or the Bug for this reason.

Andy may have a slightly used Hensley available at a reasonable price. My old Reese Dual Cam, which has 300,000k on it, got me back to London after this rather nasty failure on my return from Halifax. The Hensley also broke at Xmas returning from Florida. Two strikes. Jim

I don't know yet. I am hoping the guys at Can Am will be able to shed some light on it tomorrow when I pick up the new Hensley. There was no indication of failure until I was backing up, up hill into a camping spot and then all sorts of nasty stuff happened. The scary damage is the damage by tension, not the compression related damage. Perhaps my Jeep is so powerful, It just ripped itself away from a 7600 lb Airstream. I will report more findings later under the hitch section. Jim

Does the Hensley require unloading WD for backing up? The revised Hensley (PP) doesn't but then again, I've never backed uphill with mine....wow, that is just one scary photo!!

That's funny,we always take the wife's Jeep too when I know we won't be able to pick and choose a parking spot at an event

New Hensley installed. Excellent service from Can Am. The hitch feels better and transfers more weight forward than the old one. I think the failure was due to a faulty weld at the wd bar cylinder. I did notice some grease on the trailer end of the stinger that could only have come from one of the wd bar cylinders. I assumed that this was normal. I now guess that it is not. 10-4

In the scenario of a big crowded event we will go on the motorcyle to get a better parking spot.

Now that's a cool setup. Not to sure if I'd want one, but still, it's cool.
