You don't say the year of your 29', and so we don't know the weight. Honestly, the truck would probably pull better without the aftermarket cam and converter because these increase the RPM that the motor must work well at, and maybe even produce more heat. You also don't say what the year of your truck is so we don't know what trans, 4 or 6 speed. The 6 speed tows much better than the four.

If all these things are on the negative side, I will tell you like I tell most in your situation, yes it will tow it, but you may not like it, or do it for very long.

The hitch will be your choice as there are many good ones, and depends on how much you want to spend. IMHO the Propride is the best, but also one of the more costly ones.

the tranny is a 4l60 with a 3200 stall
and the airstream is a 1991 29' rear twin

Ok, the '91 is not a wide body which is a little easier to pull, and has a dry weight spec of 5600 pounds, and that's not too bad. It would be better if you had the 6 speed, and again IMO better if the torque converter were stock, and also better if the pulleys were stock (you want to keep that water pump spinning while towing).

I looked at all the pictures of your truck and trailer on your page, and it will be a nice looking rig. I would advise getting a good anti-sway weight distribution hitch (because the truck is the short wheel base), and watch that temperature, both engine and trans.

Hi SteveH --- I'm having trouble posting a photo, so here is a link to the Callaway website showing the "off-the-shelf" version they build and market. The photo of the engine compartment is virtually identical.

LINK: http://www.callawaycars.com/cars/cal...ttruck/engine/

I beefed up the transmission but so far I am running stock brakes. The performance is really remarkable. Still has all of the other half-ton tradeoffs -- which are not a problem for us -- but power is no longer an issue.

This combo gets alot of attention

'05 Sprinter with '00 Bambi. 16-19 mpg, and lots of room for the genny, bikes, etc as needed. Seats, if necessary, up to 8.
Needles Scenic Hwy, Black Hills SD - don't try this with anything bigger. You won't fit through the tunnels!
