Congrats on the gift. Seems like it's catching as you're the second person posting about an Airstream gift today.
Regarding your tow vehicle question; click on FORUMS above then scroll down to ON THE ROAD and click there. You'll find a wealth of information.
Welcome to the Forums and enjoy your Airstream.

This would be a good thread to start with...

http://www.airforums.com/forum...tor-19039.html

Most here recommend a Tow Vehicle with a rating of 120% of the max trailer weight...it is important to actually weigh both the trailer AND the tow vehicle when both are "rigged for towing", as the Gross Combined Allowable Vehicle Weight (GCAVW) or (GCVW) is easily exceeded in most vehicles. Surprisingly, the actual rating of a particular model varies greatly depending on the options selected....be sure to accurately determine the actual rating of a vehicle prior to purchase...do not believe the salesman when he says "it will handle the trailer fine"...the documentated ratings from the manufacturer are the only thing you can take to court with you.

Be sure to include ALL variable weights (including the Weight Distributing Hitch) when you weigh the vehicles - especially after renovating - renovations tend to add a LOT of weight..

You will probably quickly become fast friends with the "Search" button on the top pulldown.

Please err on the side of safety.

You will find the question of "Proper Sized Tow Vehicle" (TV) here within the Forums has been much discussed...

There are many of us Old Farts (OF's) here that want to keep the few gray hairs we have left, for the most part, the older you get, the more you want a one ton truck between you and a 30 footer....

A 3/4 ton pickup should do nicely - make sure you check out the trailer rating of the vehicle prior to purchase and make sure it is at least 8,000 lbs.

Welcome to the forums. There is going to be a rally in Northern GA this April where you will get to see some good looking Airstreams and owners. Plan to spend some time and tow your new gift up for us to see.
