What tires recommended for late model Suburban/Yukon XL

I have a 2005 Yukon XL with 17 inch wheels to tow a 1985 25 ft Airstream Safari. The Yukon needs tires. A friend says his Suburban gets the best life/service from Michelins. What brand and model tire would you recommend for the Yukon?

I just put a set of Michelin LT tires on my Silverado and like them a lot. Got a good deal from Costco. They carry the load a lot better than the original tires (Ameritrac?).

I am on my second set of Michelin LTX Load Range E tires on my '99 GMC K2500 Suburban. My first set of Michelins replaced the OEM Firestone tires at 37,000 miles. That first set of Michelins sold me -- 88,000 miles later I purchased my second set of Michlins. The odometer now reads 199,000 miles and the tires still register better than 50% treadwear remaining. The Michelins are expensive up front, but outlast two or more sets of lesser tires -- at least in my experience.

Every time I've bought lesser tires than Michelin, I've been disappointed.

Thanks to everyone for your input. We went with the Michelin LTX. I agree the tire specs are very important but I have also learned not all manufacturers are the same. In driving 6 vehicles over 100,000 miles each, Michelins have always outperformed the other brands. We will see how these do.
