Our trailer is a'08 23d international and we have been pulling it with a '09 Escalade for the last few years. It did an admirable job, but did struggle on the uphill legs and down grades through the Rockies.
So...traded it in for '16 GMC Sierra 2500hd 4x4 Duramax. I use Pro Series wd hitch and I am in need of a new drop down shank, as the GMC sits higher than the Escalade did.
Was wondering if anyone had a similar or same setup and what size drop down they might use? The old drop down was 10 in.
Thanks for the help!
John
I have a 2009 2500 HD Chevy , Do you have a 2 1/2" receiver on your truck ? I do so I wanter to get away from the sloppy adapter and bought a 2 1/2" shank from E trailer .com
mine is # 90-02-4800 4" drop 8" rise and I'm down to the last hole . My truck is a 4x4 with 17" wheels . They have others with more drop . This one works for me .
Not sure if it relevant, but I have a 2008 2500HD Duramax and a 2005 Classic 30 and
use a 4" drop with a Hensley hitch and the trailer appears well levelled.
We have a 23' international just like your's. But our TV is a 3500 Dodge 4X4. It does set up quite high. And has very stiff suspension.
The hitch that we found that works very will for all of our trailers, is made buy Gen-Y hitch. It uses the same design of suspension that is on the AS axle. And has a good range of height adjustment. It can also me fit out with sway control. Take a look at: www.gen-yhitch.com One outer plus, it is made in the USA !!
