I think so, but I haven't gone to the Cobra website to see. The problem is that the broadcast unit seems to be permanently attached to the cord, won't unscrew. So, I'm not exactly sure what the rememdy would be. I really can live without it if the only choice is to by an additional chord/broadcast unit.

I have one of those Cobra units in a street rod, and if yours is like mine, I don't think you can buy a longer cord. The thing is, the entire radio is in the hand-held part, not just the controls, so what that means is, there is a small coaxial cable in the cord for the antenna as well as the power and audio for the external speaker jack. That is why it is wired direct with no connector.

Steve, go to Cobra
this is supposed to be a 4' coaxial extension. I'll probably get one when I return home.

Thanks, Tom. Looks like that extention goes between the existing cord and the power/connector box. That should work just fine.

I've been using the CB out in the Davis Mtn area of West Texas, and it's worked just fine. I've been able to communicate with people I'm traveling when they were at least 5 miles away. The weather channels have sporadic reception out here though.
