What is your MPG/Speed?

I would like to share our MPG with accurate speed, conditions, Tow vehicle, trailer and any other pertinent info affecting MPG.

I have a dodge 3500/Cummings diesel towing a 77/31' AS with a Airsafe hitch. I have seen a range from 13.7 to 18 MPG. The 18 is slow towing with a tail wind, and the 13.7 is flat 70+ on interstate. This weekend we went from Miami to Key west about 130 miles. On the way down we went about 54 miles an hour most of the way with a tail wind and got 18.2 MPG. On the way home light wind about the same speed and 17.2. We had bikes on the front receiver hitch which can't help with aerodynamics.

What are you getting?

Have absolutely no interest in MPG and have never checked it. Truck is 2005 Nissan Titan. As for speed I never exceed 65 when towing.

We drove 11,000+ miles on our trip this summer to Alaska towing or then 23' Airstream with our '07 GMC 5.3 liter gas, 3.73:1 rear end ratio, and averaged 12.1 MPG over the entire trip. Of course that included all types of roads from mountain driving to interstate driving at 75 MPH.

I have a 1995 F350 7.3 DIT diesel, 4x4 regular cab, 4.10 rear gears, manual shift 5 speed transmission. I have 33 inch tires. I tow at 60 MPH, all in Arizona so far, which is always mountains of some sort. I average about 14.5 when towing my Airstream.

In general, also on highways: 49,710 mph.

With special editions because of the equipment, on highways in Germany: 62.137 mph

Greetings from Switzerland

5 Years of towing our 1986 31' Sovereign with our 2004 Nissan Titan -- 12.1 mpg average. High of 14 (flat Florida with tail wind), low of 8 (climbing the Rockies).

With a 26 gallon fuel tank we get about 200 miles down the road before we start looking...
