What is this white residue in my exhaust - 2017 F250 6.2L

Just what the title says? Running lean? Coolant? Nothing to worry about?

Did you change the coolant at the recommended interval?

There are quite a few hits for a Google on "white residue in exhaust." One possibility brought up often enough is a blown head gasket, allowing coolant into the chamber. But another is the addition of some kind of fuel additive to your gasoline, which can also cause the residue.

IF you still have the 2017 truck in your profile, then take it to the local Ford house and tell them what to test for. Should be covered by warranty if it's a head gasket.

Coolant looks good. Truck has just about 20,000 miles on it. Heading to Ford soon.

I hope it's nothing. I love the truck and it runs like a top.

It’s probably nothing. Exhaust runs hot and I’ve seen similar deposits on them. Remember they run fine on regular gas.

Probably. Will give me piece of mind to look at it. I get my oil changed at a dealer anyway. Just do it then.
