We took the Blue Truck on this trip

The Forum is replete with people who own more than one Airstream. Kudos to them; It takes all my effort to keep the ONE I own ready to go should the President should send me off on a clandestine Airstream mission.

I own more than one tow vehicle rated to safely transport us and my Overlander to wherever we want to go. Our target site's distance & amenities will dicate which tow vehicle I decide to hitch up.

Do you have more than one tow vehicle routinely used to enjoy your Airstream?

Tom

Actually we did just the opposite. When we went full time we looked for a vehicle that would serve as a tow vehicle and a everyday driver, then traded 2 for one----pieman

We have one Airstream, Lucy, who is a 2005 25' Safari FB. We pull her on long trips with Olivia, our 2005 Suburban 2500 4x4x4. On short runs, we pull Lucy with Matilda, our 2004 Tahoe.

Two and two

We have two Airstreams and two tow vehicles, a 1954 Liner, under rehab, and a 1979 23' Safari and a 1973 Dodge W200 PowerWagon, owned since new, and a 1977 Lincoln Continental.

Two vintage tow vehicles and two vintage Airstreams.

Yup, I got 2 TV's....!!!

We have the one AS - a 34Fter - SilverToy! The TV is a terriffic 01 Suburban with 4x4 and all the things that help move along.

The First one Chevy 'Burban, 4x4, 6L Motor, AT, Dual A\S, pulls SilverToy like she means it. They play with each other a bit on the LOOONNNNGG uphill pulls when she plays "hard to pull to the top", Then when the pullin is done, then the serious starts, and it is definately NO LIGHT HEARTED! there is the serious teaseing goin when the other TV comes to get gitched up.....

I mean it was semi-funny the lsat time they tried this..... The rig gets parked and the Burb pulls away to go shopping.... The 2nd TV pulls in to do an adjustment job to 'move' it a bit to make the patio easier to reach - Alas, the poor little Civic Coupe could not move SilverToy an inch.....total NO GO!!!! Still trying though!

Of Course, TV#2 is a Honda Civic Coupe...with no hitch.

So you see - we DO have TV's to tow that one greatbigolething called SilverToy

Tow Vehicles and MORE tow vehicles

I am the former owner of a trucking company and I have the left over remnants of a once thriving business. I have a F-350 crew cab for the really long trips, a F-250 (diesel) for the great fuel mileage, and an F-150 for the smaller trailers. I also have the old, rusty, bad paint, workhorse of the bunch, a 1979 GMC 3500 dually that can almost tow the woods to town.

We use two TV's for the Silver Pullit: 1977 GMC 2500, 4spd. std. or the Binder-a 1966 IH Travelall 5 spd. std. 4X4. Both have front manuevering receivers. Performance is about equal, but we use the Binder most often.
