VW Touareg TDI post Recall Update Towing

Has anyone towed with a VW, Audi or Porsche TDI after having the Recall Update performed?

I have a 2013 TReg TDI. I had not towed prior to the Recall Update. Last weekend I pulled a 3,600 lb trailer for roughly 20 miles on mostly flat Interstate (I-75) near Dayton, OH. I set the cruise at 64 MPH. The tranny was constantly shifting and running at 1,800 (probably 8th), then 2,000, 2,500 and even 3,000 RPM.

I haven't read where anyone experienced this in a pre-Recall TDI. I have about 2,000 miles on my pos-Recall TDI. The low gear shifting is entirely different when the engine is cold. It extends the upshift in at least the first 3 gears to 2,000 - 2,500 RPM. Do you think the shift changes are effecting towing.

I hope at least one of you has towed with an Updated vehicle.

Thx

I have a 2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel and had the TDI fix performed last fall. It tows just as before - no perceivable difference in the Rocky Mountains!

If the update cleared the tranny ECU it may have to relearn everything. You should see it do better after a few k miles.
