Volvo XC 90 noise

Hi all, I am towing my new Airstream flying cloud with my 2014 Volvo XC 90. It works great so far, but one thing I have noticed once I'm parked and Unhitching is that there is an intermittent electronic hum coming from the backend of my Volvo – perhaps it is an automatic leveler or something like that? I'm not sure what it is or if it will cause any problems, as it is about two seconds in duration and spaced apart about five or 10 seconds. I have also noticed that once I unplug the trailer from the tow vehicle, this hum stops. Because I'm about to make a long trip out west, I'm wondering if it's something I should be concerned about – if it will burn out some motor or something. Any thoughts?
