vintage towing, "kind of"

I own a 73 overlander and have a 2001 F-250 pulling it. I love the combination and do not want to change it. However, I would like to have an older grandwagoneer or suburban to pull it to rallies and car shows. I do not want 1973 towing capabilities though. I want to mount a 70's era body onto a newer diesel truck frame, so that I will have the same safe confident towing performance that I am used too. Has anyone done one of these and what was the outcome?
