There's no love like old truck love... with all due respect to those "car folks" out there.

My tow vehicles are a 56 Chevy 4 door wagon and a 64 Ford F-100. They always get a thumbs up towing one of my old beasts down the road.

It's OK with me if you post pics with "other vintage units". This thread is about vintage tow vehicles.

Congratulations on your new to you Airstream.

I would post pics but seem to have lost or rather misplaced by camera card. I need to find it before I get shot by my wife

Wow, nice set up. And lots of power to tow with, all the advantages of late model suspension, with classic looks. What a great combo.

Nice set up Brian. With an Airstream out front it will look very trick, not that it doesn't with any other vintage trailer. There is just something about vintage Airstreams....................and vintage wagons and cars. They seem to complete each other so nicely.

Lets see how this works....

It had to be big and heavy in order to support the 56 Flying Cloud. Not overheat, be Air Conditioned, stop well, be powerful and reliable. Have fins and a radio conversion for an IPOD packed with 50's and 60's Rock and Roll.
1958 Buick Super seems to fit the bill. (speaking of "bill"....lets not.)

P.S. I do not sell Mary Kay products.

Rough and Ready for Offroading!

It's a 30' S/O towed by a 1977 Dodge M880 (Military issue) in an as issued paint job, 5/4 Ton 318CID, 727 A/T full time 4X4 but in this pic the arial refueling snorkle is in the retracted position to improve YPG (yards/gallon) AC is a vent on the floorboard, no radio you can't hear it over the tires anyway and the ArticCat is the offroad assistance recovery unit.

JUST KIDDING FOLKS!

But it would be a hoot if it ever got a Class IV hitch, tires from at least the previous decade, brake controller, oh the list is toooo long.

You have shown us some incredible TV's and I would take your rig's picture anytime with a vintage AS.

I had that same model Buick, but a long long time ago.

The one in the photo looks like the rear springs have jacked up the rear end, which would make it a poor tow vehicle.

Yeah, it looks jacked up in the side view, but not so much in the ¾ view. On closer examination of the side view, the shadow is the same distance from the bottom of the car the entire length meaning the bottom is the same distance from the driveway. then I noticed that the driveway and horizon are an angle too. Looks like the camera was just off level (or the camera's level but the driveway slopes) to me, but it's very convincing.

Very nice car, too! Glad it's not jacked up.

Hi,
Well its not raked at all. It sits perfectly level. I did put it air shocks in the rear in case it was needed. I like that thread 2air....Missed it some how.

Well Andy....your old Buick probably convinced me to go with the chrome Dinosaur. I was raised it the Riverside-Corona area...probably your car that did me under. Ruined me for the mundane.
