if you download the order guide for a vehicle before it's available, and a year and a half before you're in the market for a new tow vehicle.
So, the order guide seems to indicate that HD Payload will be available only on the longer wheelbases again. It doesn't say what that payload value will be for most configs (just "TBD"). Again, HD Payload will be limited to XL, XLT and Lariat trims.
No mechanical limited-slip is listed thie time, HD Payload (option code 627) is available only on the 3.73:1 e-locker diff. Potentially good news is that Max Tow also comes on the 3.55:1 e-locker diff this time, so if that config offers enough payload with the new lighter truck I might get a little better fuel mileage while still getting the Max Tow setup and a truck short enough to turn around in one ZIP code. It also seems that you can get Max Tow with the regular mirrors, and the big telescoping tow mirrors are a stand-alone option now. Max Tow+HD Payload gives you the HD Payload 3.73 Diff.
HD Payload for XLT and Lariat comes with 18" wheels with 6 lugs this time around, as opposed to the 17" with 7 lugs on the previous generation. I guess this is because they are using a regular e-locker diff that can take the payload that has 6 lugs. It shows LT275/65R18C tires for XLT and Lariat with 627.
Torque and HP show as TBD for both the 5.0 and the Ecoboost 3.5L. From reports for the 3.5L Ecoboost in other applications, I expect it to be higher than the 365 hp/425 lb-ft in the last generation. Mileage is still TBD on all configs in the ordering guide as of this first version.
