TV front mounted bicycle rack

Does anyone know of a front mounted bicycle rack that is not as high as the normal receiver racks made for the rear of a TV?

I have a Ford F250 as a TV for my Safari with a 2 in. front receiver but can not find a two bicycle rack that will not obstruct the drivers view

Try performance bike or J C Whitney. They have one that fits either a 1 1/2 or 2 in receiver. The bikes are supported by their wheels rather than the frame. There is an inverted "J" that adjusts over the crossbar of the bike to hold it in place and straps for the wheels. Cost about $130 on sale.
This is a 2 bike carrier.

You could use a drop down adapter to lower the rack...

My Grandchildren call me POP.
Once you get a bike rack that suits your needs you can remove the bike seats for an even clearer view of the road which is what we do.

Sometimes the obvious answer, isn't...
Most bike racks I have seen use a kind of bolt or bracket at the top to mount the bicycles to. Why not remove the bracket, grab a hacksaw, cut off several inches of post, and reassemble? Nothing special to buy, nothing to hunt for, and nothing you would have to order and wait for weeks to get.

Thanks, I was hoping to get a reply like this to build my confidence.
I have been looking at the ROLA 5940 with a modification in mind. I even talked to Cequent about shorting the Main Support Tube at the bottom. I will loose the ability to tilt the rack but I can live with it. Cequent Tech support saw no problem with that idea but of course would not recommend a modification.

I have attempted to attach a pdf drawing of the rack.
What do you think about a shorter Main Support Tube and using two bolts at the bottom or welding it to the Collar Bracket?

Shortening the main tube will probably hinder use on the rear of the TV when you would want to use it while not towing. I have a front hitch on the Excursion and use a 10" drop (I think; it is a big drop) so I can see over the handlebars.

I bought my bike rack from the GM dealer for my Yukon. It was a bit too high for my preference so I pulled the bolts out of the vertical tube, slid the vertical tube down in the bracket, drilled new bolt holes and re-assembled. It is now of a satisfactory height. It can always be configured back to the original height if there were any reason to do so.

I was always told not to put it up front because they bounce around to much so I never did. Is this true or have I been fibbed to

To get around all of the bike mount problems, we bought two Dahon folding bicycles and carry them in the back of the truck. Works great for us.

Thanks to everyone. Could not find a drop down that will work so I have ordered the bike rack and will modify it to fit. I will let you all know how it works. It is on back order so it may take a while. Again, thanks to all.
