TV for new 25' International
Hello--
Very excited about out new purchase of a 25' Intl...due for construction in July, delivery early August!! Now for a tow vehicle.....the dealer advised a minimum pull to accomodate 7000lbs or so...I want a pickup, and my wife of course wants a Suburban or something in that category (Yukon, Expedition)...any thoughts on the pros/cons of going either way?? Thanks much for any input you can provide....

Consider what you will bring with you. A pickup truck bed is pretty handy for bikes, kayaks, generators, gas, firewood, and the like. I also need my pickup for work too so it was an easy decision for me.

Your first decision is which type of TV. A pickup or suv. Both will do the job, it depends on which one you like. Or which one suits your life style. You will get both arguments here on which is better. I go for the suv, not because it is better, just what I like

You really have to do your homework on the subject of Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. If you don't, you might buy an undersized tow vehicle, thinking that the tow rating is all that matters. Leave the V-6s, small SUVs, and 1/2-ton pickups to the flatlanders.

Well, what a fun topic...... 
Methink it really comes down first to what best fits your needs and then what you "like".
We have had Suburbans, other SUV's and currently a truck. As noted earlier, if you plan on a generator(s), firewood, bikes and other "dirty" things, the truck is what is needed. Check around and you'll find truck caps that result in the truck looking like almost like a large SUV.

We just brought home a new Ram Laramie yesterday - very lux, you'll never miss the car! I say this as someone who, in the past, would never own a truck. Make sure you look for these 3 things to assure a great tow: 3.92 axle, class IV tow hitch and trailer brake control. Added treats are back up camera and rear park assist.
We ordered our 2012 25' Flying Cloud last Thursday.

I certainly agree with the 3.92 Laramie w/break controller. The saddle bags on mine are more handy than I could imagine. I'm extremely happy with this setup. Good luck.

A 25 is very easy to tow, so you have a whole world of available tow vehicles. I think you want to consider your camping preferences, driving preferences, and economics. Pickup trucks, SUVs, vans, sedans each have their own advantages and disadvantages and there are setups in each category that will tow a 25 just fine.

No, m.honey, he's actually a dog though. If you look close you can see a Labrador in the back seat of the truck who does love to travel.
BTW, I need to pay better attention to the dates on these posts. I accidentally resurrected a two year old post - sorry about that. I was just searching for info in the 3.92 rear end.

LMAO!! I thought it was a cat too. This is kind of like telling a mom that her little girl is cute, and then being told that the little girl is actually a boy (or vice versa). Or, like asking a woman when she's "due," and being told that she's not even pregnant. It's that kind of faux pas.

You know, they make quad-cabs now....If you buy the burb, I can bet my bottom dollar that you'll wish you had bought the truck. Just like the guys say above my post. Especially if you have pets, kids, and other misc.....

I use Lexus GX470 as TV, my suggestion is to look at large SUV like seqoia or LX for your 25 footer. I carry my Yamaha generator in back of my SUV as well as other misc. stuff. My spouse use it when not towing. As folks has said it is more of a personal preference. Good luck
