Chips....

They do work,

And don't necessarily void anything....you don't have to use the perf. settings.

"INTRODUCTION
SAVES FACTORY SETTING AND RETURNS EASILY TO STOCK."

Theres more to it than just HP & torque, read & clear fault codes, set shift points, change tire height, fuel curves, ET's, etc.etc.

1.3mpg gain on the DIC stock vs ECO mode, handy for trips w/o the AS and around town.
In tow mode, able to stay in drive without using vehicle TM, (except for extreme conditions). No tranny 'hunting'.

In our case. worth the $$

Bob

OttawaValleyGuy - can you PM me regarding the CHIP feature. Thanks!
Hi
I bought my programmer from Thouroughbred diesel
There are many available
But after the instal you get about 50 extra hp and 20% better fuel mileage
Don’t ask me how it does it but it WORKS
It is an easy instal with exact instructions and it can be put back to stock if you like

Good luck
Howard

No matter the brand a 1 ton is going to give a harsher ride than a 3/4 ton. There are only two reasons to go 1 ton and that is:
- increased payload
- Tire Pressure Information System vs. the worthless nagging Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
Keep in mind that a 1 ton truck will likely sit a little higher than a 3/4 ton if it is a 4wd.
If you have the funds and like the truck go for it. A new vehicle will always be a bit nicer than an older one.
Nothing wrong with the GM except for the square fender wells........

If one wants a valid design reason it's that the GM has IFS.

All that contributes to stability is worth having.

I have a 2013 RAM 2500 which has been awesome over the 34k miles I’ve driven. Last service visit I test drove a new GMC 3500 Duramax. Nice ride, comfy truck, but when I got back into the RAM it felt identical in comfort and the interior to me is nicer. I don’t see a 3500 being a smoother ride because your 2500 ram has rear coils and the 3500 should use leaf springs making for a slightly harsher ride.

Mine does very well with factory settings, also any changes will void the warranty, even if you take it off, the computer knows...I don't have any hunting,my ram gets 20.3 empty, and 13-14 with the as...

Ride is greatly affected by wheelbase. Which, IMHO, makes a short-bed a bad choice. We have a '15 Ram 3500 Quad-Cab 8' long bed CTD with 6 spd stick Laramie (169" wheelbase) - rides like a Caddy and doesn't seem to know it is towing our '14 27FB Classic. Our rig in full battle-rattle is around 17,000 lbs combined (10k on truck, 7k on TT) per CAT scales. We average 14.7 towing the Appalachians from Mississippi to Vermont twice a year.

Funny, someone asked me about this just the other day, so I looked it up and for the F250 vs F350 the 1 ton actually sits .3" lower, I was surprised.

Everyone is going to have their opinion on these questions, brand, model, size. From our stand point, what you like and can afford is up to you. Today's trucks are amazing. Drove FORD for forty years, one GMC, all big block gas, all 3/4 ton 4 x 4. All had the good the bad and the ugly. Fast forward to 2016. We needed a new TV for our 2017 Classic. Looked at them all. We settled on a 2016 RAM 3500 w/6.7 Cummings Laramie 4 door long bed 4x4 w/hard shell canopy (not a dully). Empty/not towing have gotten 22.3 MPG. Towing 11 to 17 MPG. Out the door from Dave Smith Motors w/ WA. State tax 60k. We could not find any dealer that could match their #'s. Apples to apples in all the threads on what TV, model, and size makes my eyes hurt. Have not seen anyone report MPG on GMC, report on MPG for FORD is under 20 MPG not towing from what I have read to this point. At this point for us, we feel we got the best bang for the buck. On another note, Dave Smith sells GMC as well.

Safe travels
