Brian, I know you didn't ask me, specifically, but I highly recommend Line-X. I've had it in two different trucks and cannot find one bad thing to say. Good nation-wide warranty as well.

We sure have. Ethel is going to be an Outfitter Apex 8 pop-up truck camper. We have already ordered her. She should be built in the second week of September. That will give us time to get Fred broken-in and set-up for the truck camper. The photos below are similar to what Ethel will look like.

the '11 Silverado 3500 Dmax comes with a 36 gallon fuel tank. We're going to try that for a while, but have researched after market in-frame tanks that can hold 60 gallons. Like you said, though, they're over $1,000.

I would also look closely at the Line-X as they look a bit more refined. We have them in our trucks at work and seem to hold up well..
I had a Rhino liner in my previous truck, It seems tough enough but it can be peeled up with a shovel. I also don't like the sloppy look (drips off the bed rail) and the chalky appearance after some time in the sun.

I just did some research on the Line-X, and I think that I am going to go with it. I priced it over in Fort Walton Beach, and I was quoted $560 for up over the side rail. I then got a quote for the same job from the Line-X dealer in Jacksonville, and was quoted $450. Since we are in Jacksonville quite often, we will get it there.

Beautiful popup.going to check it out. 36 Gals. Very nice. I was looking to see if Ford eco -Boost could get a 36 Gal. Nope. Why do these companys get so close to making an ideal set up and Don't!
It's going to be a very nice set up to drop the stream and wonder off into the back country.

Hi Brian; you will like the line-x liners. I have had 3 over the years in different trucks. Two cons, hard on the knees as it is rough and objects slide on it. I understand it now comes in colors also.
It is VERY durable though. The cities up her in the mid west have their salt trucks lined with the line-x and has lasted 5 plus years.

Great looking installation, John. It looks OEM. I'll be looking at what is available for Fred. Do you have any info on any decrease in ground clearance with the new tank?

Brian
