Towing with Gas VR6 2017 Touareg 23' FB AS

Quick question. Just purchased a slighted used gas 2017 Touareg. Tow capacity of supposedly 7700#. Looking at pulling a 23'FB AS. (6000# gross weight loaded) Anybody out there with comments or actually has this set-up? I know it does not have the torque of a TDI, but it should suffice. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.

No experience with the VW. BMW tows the 23FB quite well with 300 hp. VW web site suggests 280 HP with no turbo, but an 8 speed transmission. You may not do as well at elevation, expect to run only premium fuel, and let the transmission do it's job. You'll spin a few revs, but it's made to do that. Pay attention to your payload. Traveling light has an advantage. Do your research on WDSC hitches and understand the compromises. We have seen the smaller VW SUV rolling a similar size coach, so unless you are a power hog, it'll get the job done. Suggest you spend some time with the Toureg, Audi, and Porsche threads to understand the chassis and lighting/brake setup. Pat

Ask the experts who have set up over 250 gas/diesel Touaregs for towing. Second generation Airstream dealer and hitch shop with over 40 years experience. I asked about the Touareg gas for our Airstream 25 some time ago, they are very favorable about them.
