Well....

I think power wise and frame wise, it should be fine.

BUT... here's some thoughts to consider.
1) Cooling!! How's it run. Hot Rods are notoriously warm running. Will it run cool under load?

2) Axle ratio - what's being used.

3) Brakes - have they upgraded to disks in the front?

4) I'm assuming a 4L60E tranny under it? Make sure it runs COOL - you'll want a tranny cooler for sure. You may end up needing to switch the torque converter for one made for towing applications.

Otherwise - it looks cool.
Let us know!
Marc

We have many friends who tow their trailers (sadly mostly SOB's) with their rods and customs. Everything from a '33 Chev pulling a 13' fibreglass trailer to a '55 Chev 2dr pulling a 23'. As already noted with a decent radiator, fan shroud, in some cases an extra electric pusher fan, a quality transmission cooler, and ensuring brakes are in as new condition, and decent rear end ratio, not one of us has ever had a problem. We tow all over the mountains of the west coast of Canada and the US and put thousands of miles on every year. I've included a photo of my unit, a '57 Pontiac wagon pulling my 21' Flying Cloud. Enjoy they drive, there's nothing like using vintage tin to pull vintage aluminum.

One more thing, remember to read the posts on towing with an overdrive transmission that have been noted most recently. You will learn from there whether to tow in o/d or 3rd.

Hey frederic -
If it doesn't tow yours well, I know it will tow mine. Never mind that my trailer is longer, just don't pay no attention to that small detail.
