Great feedback, Phoenix. This is very helpful.

I've been posting on the Tacoma World forum to cross reference everything on both ends. The TRD package comes with a better suspension and more upgrades I'm tracking down, so yes, great point to check on all this. I just recently replaced the battery to a HD.

The Tacoma is my truck and the Sequoia is my mother's vehicle. She has a CR-V she uses as a daily driver, so using the Sequioa would not be a problem since it's just in storage waiting for family trips.

I would rather use my daily driver (Tacoma) and solely rely on my own resources, plus I would have to swap trucks out after I tow. I live in Seattle and go to school there and my family lives in Lake Chelan. It's 3.5 hours and 2 mountain passes away, so it would be practical to keep my vehicle and not make the trip twice to swap trucks.

In the summer I go back to Chelan, so this would be a twice a year haul. Just nice to know I could just pick up and leave with my Tacoma.

A little confusing.

I'm assuming you have a four-door Tacoma. Given that, it's a pretty even match. The Sequoia has more torque but the Tacoma has a longer wheelbase.

Since you're towing it twice a year and you can tow it empty of water, you should be within the limits. (I assume you'll leave your lead brick collection at home.) It won't be fast over the two mountain passes, but neither will the Sequoia.
