Question towing with new toyota land cruiser

Has anyone had experience towing a 28 foot safari PO or international with a toyota land cruiser (V-8 230HP) ?

I don't but based on the Toyota website, the LC is rated at 6500lbs. All the 28' current model year units exceed that by about 800 lbs. Pretty close. I'd make sure you have the proper brakes, gears, tires, shocks, springs and cooling before attmepting it.

I'll give you a bit of an example. My car is rated at 5000lbs. I plan on towing a 6300lb Safari SS. I modifed the shocks, tires, gears, brakes and cooling on the car. Is it totally safe? Prob not, but what really is? I feel for me, and the others around me, it's a very calculated risk. I don't feel given the mods it's unsafe. Towing with a Kenworth would be safer, but you know what I'm getting at....
