Hi, Wow. Everyone has good information and advice; But I still wanted to get in on this. First thing that hit me was the 3.55 differential ratio. Virtually all Ford vehicles, with the factory tow package, come with a 3.73 ratio differential. So if you are towing with a Ford, first look for the 3.73 differential. [3.55 not good for towing] Next, the 4.6 L engine is a great engine, but too small. [281 cubic inches] The 5.4 L engine, in most cases, is just a stroked 4.6 L engine with a taller block to accept a 5/8" stroke increase makeing some usable towing torque. [330 cubic inches]
Will that F-150 work? Yes. Will you and everyone else on the road be happy with it? No.
