Towing a 2011 25' International from CA to Denver

Need some Help/Advice:

Will be towing a 2011 25' International from San Luis Obispo, CA to the Denver, CO area in mid July. A few questions...

1. What might be a good used vehicle that can handle the weight? (Once it gets to Colorado, it will pretty much be parked)

2. Do you know of anybody who might like to make some extra cash and tow it to Colorado?

Thanks so much for any help or ideas you might have...Steve and Lynne

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

First off, welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

If you do not plan on moving the trailer once it gets to Denver, it would probably be much cheaper to have it moved for you than to buy and set up a tow vehicle for the one time 1200 mile tow. It would involve quite a bit more than simply buying a used vehicle capable of towing the Airstream. You would also be looking at buying and installing a trailer brake controller and a WD hitch system. Then if you were not going to move the trailer again, you would be looking at selling your recently acquired tow vehicle. By the time you did all of that a professional mover would be cheap.

Welcome Aboard!

I am only 12 miles from San Luis Obispo.
I may be able to help you out. I have a Toyota Tundra (that I tow our '67 Trade Wind with).
My hitch should work fine, so you wouldn't need to purchase or provide one.

Let me know if you'd like to discuss the particulars.

You ought to be concerned with liability. A bonded and insured transporter is always your best bet. Rates should be around $1.25+ per loaded mile. zip code to zip code.
