m Ram saying 1950 payload. I have a 27'FC FB, Blue Ox Hitch with 1000lb bars, Fully loaded scale says 3100 front( max 3700) 4250 rear( max 4150) tt 6150. Have the blue ox chains at 9 links. Am a little over at the rear and a little lite on the front, Just finished a 3,000 mile trip an d the truck did ok with 9 links on the chain. I'm thinking if I go to 10 links, the front will be at stock weight( 3200lbs). And the rear should come down closer to the 4100 max, Thoughts ?
It's a good idea to stay within the specs of the tow vehicle so it would be nice to get that extra 100 lbs off the rear axle. You can go for the extra link but you could also accomplish it by moving around some of the cargo in the trailer.

Remember to add Linex weight!

I had Linex undercoat and waterproof the underside of my 2019 Ram Limited and the interior of my 6'4" box. I also have Linex extending up the sides of the truck several inches, in what Linex calls the off road package. Along with the capper, the truck looks awesome!

Linex tells me this adds 60 to 75 pounds of weight to the vehicle. So don't forget to add the weight of a fat child or skinny mother in law when computing weight and load limits!

That's a good payload for a RAM for sure; I would go by the sticker payload number of 1850..not sure why they would send an email increasing to 1950??

Anyway, I have had 3 BO SP hitches over the last 3 AS's; first 2 25's and my F150 I used 9 links; 3.5 links showing. With my current 28' and my F250, I started with 7 links (set by dealer) but it felt light in the front and felt some porposing on the highway on the way from dealer in Portland back to MT. I called BO techs and they said to tighten to 8 links (4.5 links showing). That brought the front fender with in .25" with the AS hitched or unhitched which is where you want to be. Feels fine/solid after 18K miles towing now with this set up. I have discussed with BO since, and they said typical is 8 links to as much as 11 links in some cases is not unusual...it's the measurement on front fender I mentioned, and the feel that is important; not the links. Call BO if you have any doubts...good folks IMHO.

LKM did you weigh your truck without the trailer being hitched? You should get those numbers to use for a baseline on how much weight you are restoring against that baseline. Truck loaded as you would use it while towing.
