Longer is better.

Those 2 things definately helped but it was still bad. When I bought my F-250 short bed, it was a whole better situation. The short bed doesn't "match" the sections of interstate like the long bed and doesn't buck much at all. Of course, a rough road is a rough road, and there isn't much you can do about that, except go on another road.

There are so many variables on the change from one vehicle to another. My F-250 Long bed rides worse with out weight in the rear or a trailer attached. It is so light every imperfection on the road bumps the rear end.

For towing long bed is better. I can tell from my experience of being hit by a police cruiser that longer is better. I nearly lost control. I believe I would have lost control with shorter and lighter TV.
