Tow Vehicle for 1971 Ambassador built between 1970 and 1989?

Ok folks,

so this is a really hard question for you out there...

We have a 1971 Ambassador and will be looking for a TV in near future. We love new cars, but are considering an older TV for our Ambassador just for the look of the combo. So which Pick-ups would you recommend for our trailer, that were built between 1970 and 1989?? We know, there where a lot of cars built, but what do you think?? What about Diesels?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Stefanie and Bjoern

Thumbs up

How about a UNIMOG? Diesel engine, 8 forward speeds, 8 reverse.....
And you can tow it literally ANYWHERE!

Dave,

thanks for your answer and suggestion. I love the UNIMOG S404, but it is not our first choice for towning the Airstream...

OK, I think I have to clear something up... We are looking for an US-Car, so no Landrover, no Unimog and only US-Pick-ups or SUVs.

So any thoughts?? I know, that the new Cars are better than the old ones, but with what did you people outthere tow in the 70's and 80's??
