I climb grades every week at below 40-mph. Some higher, and some even lower. I don't ever get on the Interstate empty or loaded to 78,000-lbs above 45-mph. Guess my work truck can't do the job.

No car or pickup out there until the last twenty years or so could climb grades like today's. It's pretty much irrelevant as it is the downslope which matters.

It wouldn't occur to me to use my one ton pulling my 35' Silver Streak to climb much faster than fifty. Why?

Can you answer as to why one should?

But with the truck only being a year old, I wasn't willing to get a different tow vehicle. That being said, when time comes to look at another TV, the ecodiesels are high on my list to check out. I sold my RAM to get this GMC and unlike a lot of truck owners, I have zero brand loyalty. I go for what works best at the time for my needs.

Top has also done a good job of providing numbers on his rig. Use all the comps you can find. Truck spec, terrain, climate and driver motivation

(in this case, demanding whether cruise control is the norm AND at what speed. Inconsistent speed and at those higher than 65 need to be thrown out.).

1500 vs 2500

We have a 1/2 ton chevy. In past we had 3/4 ton HD for towing 25 FB. I notice a difference in towing, braking, & tongue wt., next truck will be a 3/4.

Glad sombody said it. Nothing will improve quality better then the fear of lost customers. At least that's how I feel.

There it is, right there.

My dear dad taught me many things. I wish I could say that I followed all of his wise words. Would have saved me and others a lot of heartache.

One thing I CAN say that I DID follow: If you want to tow anything more than a utility trailer, use a 3/4-ton truck.

Since I can't fit a dually in my garage ( unless I kick Gina's Bronco out..... 😀..... Probably WON'T try that! ), if I needed to replace my F250, I would hope to find a non-dually F350 (diesel, of course!)

Hasten the day when you can enjoy a 3/4-ton truck again!
