I'm super happy for you. I also wanted a burb, nothing else was going to do. I found one at a dealer with all of the options I wanted, 2500HD, LT interior, 4x4, Autoride suspension, barn doors and the 8.1. That brute of a motor will pass anything but a gas station. I paid to much as it was a dealer, but it's not how you pay, it's how much fun you have for what you pay.

I'm going to have a crazy vacation, hopefully lasting about a year, then I plan on selling the burb and a 2006 25' SS, looking to cash out at 40k for both of them as a pair. Hopefully, they'll go to a good home.

Happy trails!

Great choice, Suburbans and airstreams just go together so well. They are the quintesential tow vehicle for the iconic airstream. It must be so, ads for suburbans 50 years ago, showed them hitched-up to an airstream,( I know, I'am a romantic ). On a more serious note, the '96 to'99 'Burbs are some of the best rigs out there, and the ones with the big block are rated to tow more than the new ones. Congrat.

VERY nice 'Burb. Got more details? Pretty low mileage, that one should last you quite a while.

Congratulations. The pup will enjoy the new ride.

I feel so, so, so underpowered now with my lil 455 poncho in the wagon. Half the torque, a third the fuel mileage, man oh man, I better make sure Donna doesn't see this or she'll be pushing hard for a move up.

We will be driving it back from N.C. the first weekend in March.

I'll keep ya posted, after we get the "Frantic Banana II" rigged, will give an

up-date after the 3.73's are installed.
