The Airstream Grand Prix

I attended a very fine TAC rally put on by the Metro Detoit folks and organized and directed by Draggin Wagon and his wife. He showed me his latest acquisition that had a compaison road test of 4 1969 tow vehicles in the paper work that came with the camper. Here is the Airstream Grand Prix if you are interested:

Thanks Draggin Wagon, Dan

Thanks for the link, T-Dan, it was very interesting. Ah, the good ol'days $4,000 Hemi Roadrunners. LJH

Airstream Grand Prix

LJH

Did you notice that the road testers actually towed the Airstreams off road and the trailers took the abuse quite well. This amounted to a test of the Airstream trailers in an emergency situation. I was quite impressed.

Love the picture under the Champion Spark Plug bridge on the back straight of Riverside International Raceway.

Thanks Dan, Great article. Being a potential Air Stream owner is certainly answered my question about towing stability. Hahaha

The other thing I realized was that it wasn't just my faulty memory. People really were crazy back in the 60's.
