My new Ford came with an easy to life tailgate. Not bad compared to the Tundra I have.

Hi madrone, any concerns with drilling holes/corrosion?
Are there gasket/grommets for the holes?

I had the same questions and really don't like the idea of drilling into a truck - even an older one.

BTW - I did get a look at the newer Ford F250 with an assist system and can see and feel the benifits from one of these.

my tundra has it. love it. i can walk up and hit the latch and bend down and grab what i'm loading, i don't have to sit the tailgate down. it just gently falls open and it is extremely light to close. Mine came with the vehicle, it's not this companies though.

My new GMC Sierra came with such a system. Pretty neat!

Just received mine and have yet to install it. I see that the newer trucks come with same.

Am waiting to hear of your experience and satisfaction with it! This would make a big difference, especially when you have one arm full of stuff and having to mess with the tailgate. Photos if you can, please.

I use a Gateglide, a similar product, which works very well, and is much appreciated by my DW.
