Suburban 2500 8.1L V8 4X4 - Nice TV?

Something tells me that this is a really nice TV family car combo?

Any folks out there have any experience with this car?

Cars for Sale: 2002 Chevrolet Suburban 4x4 2500 in Gainesville, GA 30501: Sport Utility Details - 274706338 - AutoTrader.com

A link to the car - just posted at my local Chevy Dealer...on way to look at it today...

We pull our 25FB (7400#) with 2500 Suburbans with the 6.0 liter. We have pulled our Airstream over 50,000 miles with these Subs. The 8.1 liter should do an excellent job as a TV.

One caution, the GM OEM receiver is junk. I replaced both of mine with an aftermarket Class IV receiver after the the originals developed cracks in the welds.

Thumbs up Burbs Rock...

Complete with Kristie?

Rong color but thats jus me...

Couldn't be happier with ours, it is a great TV.

The Autoride makes for a very nice riding rig, the 2500's don't have the auto leveling which makes it nice for towing. Looks like it has all the bells and whistles.
Ck it good for oil leaks some of the early 8.1's had an oil consumption concern. 1qt between changes is about average, I have had less than 1/2qt but we only have 33k, use it mostly for towing. Towing MPG anywhere between 10.0 and 12.1 average on the DIC. (Superchips, Flashpaq programmer set on ECO/Tow mode)
Be prepared to change out the OEM receiver, poor design and possible weld failure.

Give it a good going over, if it's been well maintained, it should be a sooper TV.

Stream Safe...
Bob

What is a good receiver to replace the OEM one on Suburbans?

I used the Reese Tow Beast class V, Depending on your needs a class IV Reese may work well for you.

Best tow vehicle/family vehicle I've ever owned. 8.1L tows everything. Nice weight distribution.
The Michelins on it are oversized from OEM.
I'd have a qualified mechanic, familiar with Chevy trucks check it out.
Ours 'looked' mint with only 17k miles. The fluids (transfer, diff, tranny, engine, brake) told a different story, and it cost me.
